What is the Recycled PS and where does it come from?

Polystyrene or PS is an aromatic thermoplastic polymer suitable for the injection and extrusion of articles in various product sectors.

Originally it has a density of about 1050 Kg./m3, transparent and rigid, it easily lends itself to coloring both in matt and glossy colors.

The production of the relative PS granules takes place through the recovery of production and food waste, post industrial, which are kept separate in order to create recipes suitable for very different applications.

The predominant colors required by the market are white, black, gray and orange.

Based on the final colors and mechanical characteristics, it is possible to mix a part of virgin material in the granulation recipe.

The main sectors of use of the granules are those of packaging, vases, insulators, appliances, electrical and clothing accessories.

On the rMIX recycling portal you can find PS, the product is made up of various families such as PS, HIPS and GPPS.
